Jasmine McNeil recently attained her Master's in Library Science Degree from North Carolina Central University, making the Dean's List in 2020 and graduating Summa Cum Laude. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a civic minor in Urban Youth and Communities from UNC Charlotte in 2014.


She currently works as an Outreach Specialist at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, where she spearheads and coordinates several programs and initiatives. She also is responsible for training other library staff on systemwide initiatives, and leads systemwide teams including Reading in Color and Black Lives Matter Program.

In 2020, the program that she created and developed, Reading in Color, received the Mayor's Mentoring Alliance Award for Best Mentoring Collaboration.

Jasmine previously founded a nonprofit organization that focused on teen

domestic violence prevention education, and has a passion for service, workforce development, equity, and diversity in literacy. She specializes in providing workshops that highlight the importance of diversity in literacy for children and has worked on many projects in different lead roles. 

She is known for her strong logistical, communication, and organization skills and recently has ventured into media with website design and building.
